Saba is a tiny island of five square miles rising steeply out of the deep blue Caribbean just to the south of St. Thomas., but its charms are great and is valued as a unique escapist Caribbean holiday destination. It is the smallest island in the Dutch Antilles, a 12-minute puddle jump from Dutch/French St. Maarten/St. Martin, and is dubbed the "Unspoiled Queen" by those who know it and have been inspired by it. Saba is certainly the most undiscovered getaway gem in the entire Caribbean.
This beautiful, Sabanian house, Villa Fairview, has a very unique location on the island of Saba. At 1000 feet, Fairview overlooks the charming village of Windwardside in the middle of the island. You will find numerous fine restaurants and shops, all within walking distance.
This Caribbean villa, surrounded by beautiful nature, is reached from a quiet street, which provides the utmost privacy for visitors. Because of its unique location there is a magnificent view from the wide verandas overlooking the town of Windwardside, Mount Scenery, and the Caribbean to the South West.
The house has a large, fully equipped kitchen with both a cooktop and oven, large refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and anything else you expect to find in a luxurious house like this. Everything is new. The spacious living room leads to a very large porch, with great views. On the same floor there are 2 spacious bedrooms (about 322 sq.ft.) with a comfortable King-size bed in each. Between the bedrooms you will find a bathroom with a spacious shower. Both bedrooms have air-conditioning, but you will probably not use it, because the nights are cool. Villa Fairview has a 3rd bedroom (the Rain Forest room) downstairs (approximately 645 sq. ft). It has a King-size bed, bathroom and its own terrace. There is also a separate room with a washer and dryer.
Saba soars some 3,000 feet into the sky and features a tropical rainforest across its mountainous terrain with lush vegetation including orange and countless related edibles. Saba has the benefits of a protected marine park with some of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean, a wealth of exotic tropical flora and fauna, a friendly population of 1,600, and—of special note—no mosquitoes whatsoever.
Visitors to Saba enjoy an unhurried lifestyle, balmy trade-wind breezes, dramatic colors and proximity to major Leeward Island hubs. Saba features a few small local pubs and restaurants for entertainment, but its draw lies in its untrammeled beauty. The island represents nothing less than pure escapism for the discern few who have discovered this gem of an island for a unique Caribbean holiday.
