Florida Villas Direct & Queenscourt Hospice

We were delighted to win a Florida villa holiday donated by Florida Villas Direct to Queenscourt Hospice to raise money at the Southport Flower Show, and would like to thank Florida Villas Direct for their generosity in providing a splendid Florida villa.

My husband and I together with our two close friends have had an amazing holiday. It was our first Florida holiday and it surpassed our expectations.

We met the members of staff of Florida Villas Direct a few days prior to our departure for Florida and their information on “must see places” was most useful.

We had a wonderful time in Orlando. All the travel arrangements with the travel agent went without a hitch (if you don’t count someone taking your case and leaving you theirs – sorted out the next day with great efficiency). Tracy and the maintenance man from the villa management company were very helpful.

The Florida villa was fabulous and we made full use of the pool and the games room. There are too many highlights to mention but one of the best for us all was the air boat ride on Boggy Creek viewing alligators and other wildlife at close quarters. We also visited the Kennedy Space Centre the day before the space shuttle launch and really got close to the launch pad. When we watched the take off and the docking procedures on television we all felt a personal involvement with it.

We did have one problem with the car hire however. My husband wanted to bring the car home but the computer said “NO”!! We had a brand new Ford Mercury – Grand Marquis. We had 900 miles of enjoyable motoring from the Atlantic Coast to the Gulf Coast.
